In response to a job advertisement, Joy and Susan travel to a lodge in the countryside to earn money for college. The old colonial mansion appears abandoned and run-down, but Mrs. Bird, a dour white housekeeper, welcomes them and assures them there is work to be had. Although Susan feels uncomfortable, the two girls stay the night. On the stairs, they look at old sepia photographs from the colonial era: lavish parties and gruesome hunting scenes. Joy thinks she recognizes Mrs. Bird in a photo from the opening of the lodge a hundred years ago. An unimaginable horror trip begins…

ISAYA EVANS is a Kenyan filmmaker who has worked in various capacities in the film industry locally and internationally for over a decade.

Isaya directed and produced the short film LOOP, which won an award at the Machakos Film Festival 2021. He has directed television series such as IGIZA and 2ND FAMILY, which are broadcast on the VOD platform Showmax. Isaya’s award-winning short film GROGAN’S LODGE has been invited to seven film festivals so far, including the prestigious Clermont-Ferrand ISFF 2024
