A parasite has contaminated the drinking water in Dakar. As an antidote, tablets are developed to render the parasite harmless. Alioune, a young man, can no longer afford the pills and is exposed to the parasite without protection: The result: madness and dementia. But after just a few days, Alioune realizes that he has never been as lucid as he is now – a journey of political and spiritual awakening begins.

ALICIA MENDY, born in Lausanne in 2000 to a Senegalese father and an Italian mother, graduated from the Haute école d’art et de design (HEAD-Génève) in 2023. Inspired by fantasy and science fiction, spirituality is a central theme in her artistic work, in which she continues to explore utopias and dystopias. She also composes film music. Her film BEUTSET (L’AURORE) won an award for best director at the Curta Cinema Festival in Rio de Janeiro.
