Ai Shams, a neighborhood in Cairo: After a violent incident, Eissa, a 17-year-old African migrant in Egypt, finds himself in a race against time to save his young wife and baby, whatever the cost. A moving film, full of humanity despite all the bleakness.

MORAD MOSTAFA (born 1988) is an Egyptian filmmaker and alumnus of the “Berlinale Talents Campus” in Durban and the “Locarno Academy”. He wrote and directed three short films that were all selected in Clermont-Ferrand for three consecutive years and screened at over 300 festivals worldwide. His latest short film I PROMISE YOU PARADISE has been selected for the Semaine de la Critique du Festival de Cannes 2023. Morad is currently developing his debut feature film AISHA CAN’T FLY AWAY ANYMORE in the “Cinéfondation”, the residency of the Cannes Film Festival.
