MOURAMANI by Mamadou Touré from 1953 is considered the first film ever made by a Guinean director, of which, however, no copies seem to exist anymore. Has anyone seen the film at all? Equipped with a video camera, microphone and headphones, the young filmmaker Thierno Souleymane Diallo sets off in search of traces in his home country, interviews contemporary witnesses and thus goes deeper and deeper into a time travel through Guinea’s fascinating, forgotten film history.
