The documentary by Burkinabe director Salam Zampaligré draws a portrait of Drissa Touré, a taxi driver who decides to become a director after meeting Senegalese film legend Ousmane Sembène. The documentary looks back on the life of the self-taught director, who celebrated international success with the feature films LAADA (1991) and HARAMUYA (1995), only to suddenly disappear from the film scene.

SALAM ZAMPALIGRE has been working in film for more than ten years and is a member of the collective Génération Films. He is a graduate of the Institut Supérieur de l’Image et du Son (ISIS) in Ouagadougou and also studied in Germany, France and the Netherlands. Salam has directed several successful short films and was most recently guest of AFRIKAMERA with a CINÉ SLAM.
