Pirinha is the story of a young woman in search of herself and her past. On her journey, she encounters the “evil” creatures of Cape Verdean folklore that she feared as a child. However, these encounters are tempered by memories of her time with her grandmother, who had a special knowledge of traditional medicine. A story about healing a childhood trauma, steeped in the cultural rituals of Cape Verde.
