Three defining moments in Ghana’s history from 1948 to the present are reflected in the experiences of three women, whose souls, representative of their generation, are unwittingly connected through space, time and ancestral heritage. As each of them discovers who she is, one thing becomes clear: hope must prevail.
AMARTEI ARMAR (born in 1991), the son of a Ghanaian father and an American mother, worked in the film industry in British Columbia for several years after graduating from the University of British Columbia with a BFA in film production. He moved to Accra in 2017 and teamed up with the Ghanaian film producer Yemoh Ike to make films in his home country of Ghana. His latest work TSUTSUE celebrated its world premiere at the 75th Cannes Film Festival, where it was officially selected and competed for the short film awards.
